Your location data stays on your device and is only used to find nearby places and calculate directions. No location data is sent to third parties except for search queries to Apple Maps and Wikipedia.

Data Collection

Neerly collects minimal data to provide its core functionality:

• Location: Used locally to find nearby places and calculate distance and direction. Your location is never stored on our servers.
• Heading: Used locally to orient the compass arrow. Never transmitted externally.
• Place preferences: Stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud if enabled.

Third-Party Services

Neerly uses the following third-party services to provide place search functionality:

• Apple Maps: Used to search for nearby places. Search queries include your approximate location and the place type you're searching for. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Wikipedia Geosearch API: Used to discover nearby points of interest. Queries include your approximate location. Subject to Wikimedia's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, your place preferences may sync across your devices via iCloud. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
